DL-708's defining characteristic is its multi-tone colour staining: rather than a single uniform hue, the stain is applied to produce natural-looking variation from warm honey-gold to deeper amber-brown across different boards, mimicking the tonal range found in a naturally reclaimed or sun-aged oak floor. This is not a surface pigment — the stain penetrates the opened grain channels of the brushed surface, so the colour reads over and through the wood's natural texture rather than as a flat applied layer. The brushed surface is critical to this effect: without the opened grain, the stain would sit on the surface and risk reading as paint; with the brushed grain, the stain pools into the grain channels and settles differently across the ridges of each plank, reinforcing the natural, hand-finished, multi-tone appearance across the installed floor.
UV lacquer completes DL-708 with a durable, low-maintenance sealed surface that locks in the multi-tone stain without alteration.
