Client Concern
Risk of deformation under underfloor radiant heating
Located in a cold climate region, the client relied on full-house radiant heating and was concerned that continuous bottom heat could cause wood shrinkage, cracking, or gapping—especially with extra-long planks (2200mm × 220mm), which are more sensitive to structural movement.
Our Solution
We provided a 3-layer engineered oak flooring system designed for high thermal stability. Its cross-ply structure effectively balances internal stress and minimizes expansion and contraction under heat.
To support the extra-long format, a high-precision click locking system was used to ensure stable floating installation with flexibility for micro-movement.
The 4mm oak top layer underwent strict moisture conditioning before production, and a UV lacquer finish was applied to enhance surface protection and long-term dimensional stability.
