CD Grade Natural Oak Engineered Flooring 190mm AM-01 | AMUER

AMUER AM-01 specifically has a 3mm solid oak wear layer over a cross-ply timber core (14mm total), 190mm × 1,900mm long plank format, brushed surface treatment, and natural oil finish with click installation. CD grade boards have individual natural character — each plank is its own warm composition of grain and colour — while reading as a visually coherent, warm floor at room scale.

In practice, a CD grade floor contains boards with moderate knots across a range of sizes; gentle cathedral grain arches and mild swirling grain movement; warm natural colour variation from pale cream-gold to richer amber-honey; minimal to no open cracks, bark inclusions, or prominent sapwood. All features are structurally stable. CD grade is the specification for clients who want genuine natural character and warmth in a floor that reads as a coherent material field rather than an extreme character statement.

The brushed texture on AM-01 is felt as a gentle directional roughness underfoot, and visible in raking light as fine shadow lines along the grain direction. It accepts natural oil more evenly than a smooth surface, and conceals fine scratches and minor wear more effectively than a polished or flat surface.

Unlike UV lacquer, which forms a hard surface film, natural oil leaves the wood open and the surface matte and tactile. The trade-off is greater maintenance: periodic re-oiling every 1–3 years and prompt wiping of spills. The benefit: an authentic wood appearance, local repairability, and a patina that develops over years of use that no lacquer floor can replicate.

The 3-layer engineered construction resists the dimensional movement that solid wood experiences under heating cycles. Before installation, switch off the heating system for 24 hours. After installation, restart gradually — increasing by 1–2°C per day. Natural oil finish handles UFH cycles better than lacquer finishes, as it does not risk surface cracking under thermal stress. Maintain indoor humidity at 40–65% RH year-round.

With natural oil finish, AM-01 also supports spot repair between full sanding cycles: worn or marked areas can be lightly abraded (240 grit along the grain) and re-oiled locally, significantly extending the time between full floor sanding. For most residential applications with proper maintenance, an AM-01 floor should not require full sanding for 15–25 years.
