UV exposure and thermal movement in a sun-filled high-rise apartment
With large floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the apartment, the client was concerned about long-term UV fading, yellowing, and dimensional movement caused by continuous direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations.
Our Solution
We applied a premium UV lacquer finish with advanced anti-yellowing and UV-resistant properties to preserve the light natural oak tone (AM-22) over time.
To ensure stability under changing temperatures, we used a 3-layer engineered oak structure, designed to minimize expansion and contraction in highly sunlit spaces.
For the visual style, carefully selected AB grade oak provided a clean and uniform appearance with minimal knots. A subtle wire-brushed texture added natural warmth and tactile depth, while the precision T&G system enabled a seamless herringbone installation across both open living areas and narrow hallways.
