White Stained Oak 90mm Chevron Engineered Flooring — AM-41
AM-41 is a 90mm white-stained oak chevron engineered floor in AB natural character grade, brushed and stained, finished with UV lacquer: 14/3mm three-layer construction with a 3mm solid European oak wear layer, tongue-and-groove glue-down installation. The chevron (arrow parquet) pattern is geometrically distinct from herringbone: in chevron, the board ends are cut at an angle so that left-hand and right-hand boards meet precisely at the centre line, forming a continuous, uninterrupted V-point. This perfect V-junction is the defining visual feature of chevron flooring — a crisper, more architectural geometry than herringbone’s staggered joint. AM-41’s white stain is applied over a brushed oak surface, cooling and lightening the natural honey-gold oak tone to a pale white-linen to cool-greige palette: the lightest and most contemporary tone in the AMUER chevron range. The brushed surface opens the grain texture beneath the stain, ensuring that the white colour reads over a natural wood texture rather than a flat, painted surface. UV lacquer provides a durable, low-maintenance hard finish that locks in the stained colour and requires no periodic re-oiling — a critical advantage for a white or pale floor where maintenance marks are more visible than on dark or natural-toned surfaces.

Full Product Specification
| Specification | AM-41 Detail |
| Product Code | AM-41 |
| Species | Top layer European Oak ; Poplar core and backing layer |
| Construction | 3-Layer Engineered Wood Flooring |
Total Thickness | 14/3mm (14mm total, 3mm wear layer) |
Top Layer | 3mm solid European oak — supports 2–3 light sanding and refinishing cycles |
Board Size | 90mm × 510mm — 90mm wide chevron plank; 510mm long; boards cut at 45° at both ends (left-hand and right-hand mirror boards) |
Pattern | Chevron (Arrow Parquet) — boards cut at 45° at both ends; left-hand and right-hand boards meet at the centre line at a perfect point, forming a continuous uninterrupted V-arrow; the defining distinction from herringbone, where board ends are square and joints are staggered |
Colour | AM-41 White Stained Oak — pale white-linen to cool greige; a white stain is applied to the brushed oak surface, cooling and lightening the natural honey-gold oak toward a pale, contemporary white-grey; colour varies subtly across boards with AB grade grain and tannin variation beneath the stain; in direct daylight the stain reads as clean white-linen; in warm artificial light it shifts to a warmer pale greige; more ivory-warm than pure cool grey, more sophisticated than a flat white paint finish |
Surface Treatment | Two treatments applied in sequence: (1) Brushed: wire-brush treatment opens the natural grain structure, removes soft early-wood fibres, and creates a visible grain texture across the board face — critical on a stained floor to prevent the colour reading as flat or painted; (2) Stained: white stain applied after brushing, penetrating the opened grain fibres; the stain works with the brushed texture so that it pools more heavily in the grain channels, creating a subtle tonal variation between ridge (paler) and channel (slightly more pigmented) that reads as natural depth in the installed floor |
Finish | UV Lacquer — UV-cured polyurethane lacquer; hard, durable surface film over the stained brushed surface; locks in the white stain colour; protects against everyday wear, scuffs, and household liquid spills; low-maintenance: no periodic re-oiling required; satin sheen level; the UV lacquer is the correct finish for AM-41 because a white or pale stained floor requires strong surface protection — a wax oil finish on a white stain would require more frequent maintenance and would be more vulnerable to staining from red wine, coffee, and similar spills |
Grading | AB — Premium Natural Character Grade: warm, full natural character beneath the white stain; gentle cathedral grain arches and fine grain movement; occasional small pin knots and fine mineral streaks; the AB grade provides enough natural character to read through the white stain as texture and subtle colour variation, while remaining sufficiently clean and consistent that the white tone reads as cohesive across the floor |
Edge Profile | Square Edge — no bevel or chamfer; the angled board ends of the chevron pattern meet at a perfect V-point at the centre line; square edges allow the chevron arrow geometry to read as a seamless continuous V-field without the interruption of shadow lines at every joint |
Installation | T&G (Tongue and Groove) — glue-down to subfloor; chevron requires full adhesive bonding for pattern stability; the angled board ends must be precisely aligned at the centre line; expansion gap minimum 10mm at all walls; 48-hour acclimatisation required; installation by a qualified parquet flooring specialist is essential for chevron |
Underfloor Heating | Compatible — maximum surface temperature 27°C (hydronic and electric); glue-down installation is the most stable format for UFH; maintain indoor humidity 45–60% RH year-round; UV lacquer is more humidity-resistant than wax oil |

PRODUCT OVERVIEW · AM-41 WHITE STAINED OAK CHEVRON
AM-41 is the white-stained 90mm chevron in the AMUER parquet range: a contemporary pale floor in the most precise and architectural of all parquet pattern geometries. The chevron pattern is produced by angling both ends of each board at 45°, so that left-hand and right-hand boards meet at the centre line at a perfect, continuous V-point. This uninterrupted apex is the visual signature of chevron flooring — crisper and more architecturally resolved than herringbone, where square-ended boards create a staggered joint rather than a meeting point.
The white stain on AM-41 is applied over a brushed oak surface: the brushing opens the grain texture first, so that the stain penetrates the opened fibres and creates a subtly textured white surface rather than a flat, opaque colour. The result is a white floor that reads as white oak — pale, cool, and contemporary from a distance, with visible grain texture and subtle colour variation visible at close range and in directional light. This distinction between a stained white floor and a painted white floor is entirely about the brushed surface treatment: without brushing, the stain would read as a flat pigment coat; with brushing, the stain reads as a colour that belongs to the wood.
UV lacquer is the definitive finish for AM-41. A pale or white stained floor is more vulnerable than a dark or natural floor to staining from household spills — red wine, coffee, oils — and to wear marks from abrasion and furniture movement. UV lacquer's hard, durable surface film provides strong protection against all of these, requires no periodic re-oiling, and can be maintained with standard damp mopping. This makes AM-41 a genuinely practical pale floor, not just a beautiful one.
The 90mm plank width is the correct proportion for the 510mm board length, producing the 45° chevron angle with a compact, refined repeat. At 90mm, the chevron arrow is clean and proportionate — wide enough to read the V-geometry clearly, narrow enough to repeat frequently across the floor plane and create the characteristic rippling arrow-field that makes chevron flooring so visually distinctive.
Design Guide
AM-41's white-stained chevron, AB grade brushed oak, and UV lacquer finish place it firmly in contemporary, light-filled, and design-led interior contexts. The white tone and the chevron geometry are both strong design statements — they work best when the rest of the interior palette respects rather than competes with them.
Cool Contemporary
& Minimalist
White chevron is the definitive floor for cool minimalist interiors. The pale stained tone and the precision chevron V-pattern together create a strong, considered floor that reads as architectural rather than decorative. Pair with white or light grey walls, concrete or stone surfaces, and black or brushed steel metal fixtures for maximum contemporary impact.
Scandinavian &
Cool Japandi
AM-41’s warm-white stain (more ivory-linen than cool blue-white) is the correct tone for Scandinavian and Japandi interiors where warmth is preserved within a pale, restrained palette. The chevron geometry adds the geometric precision that Japandi appreciates, while the brushed grain texture adds the natural material quality that Scandi sensibility requires.
Light-Filled &
Maximalist Contrast
White chevron creates a dramatic light ground beneath bold, deep wall colours and rich furniture. Against deep teal, forest green, midnight blue, or warm terracotta walls, the pale white chevron floor provides a light, geometric counterpoint that prevents the space from reading as dark. The chevron arrow pattern in white reads as confident and modern against rich, layered interiors.
Installation Guide — Chevron T&G
T&G Glue-Down — Chevron-Specific Requirements
Chevron requires full-spread adhesive glue-down installation. The angled board ends must meet precisely at the centre line; any misalignment at the V-apex is immediately visible. Chevron installation is more demanding than herringbone and must be carried out by an experienced parquet specialist.
•Adhesive: full-spread flexible adhesive approved for engineered chevron parquet
•Subfloor flatness: 2mm per 2m maximum
•Subfloor moisture: ≤4% MC (timber) or ≤3.5% CM (concrete screed)
•Expansion gap: minimum 10mm at all walls and fixed structures
•Acclimatisation: 48 hours in the installation space before laying
•Centre line: establish a precise centre line — the V-apex spine of the chevron pattern must align with this line
•Left-hand and right-hand boards: unpack and sort separately before installation; clearly labelled in packaging
•V-apex alignment: check V-apex precision throughout — any drift requires correction before adhesive cures
•Square edge: do not fill the chevron V-joint — the flush angled joint is an intentional feature
Chevron specialist: this installation must be carried out by a qualified parquet specialist
Underfloor Heating
AM-41 is compatible with both hydronic and electric UFH. Glue-down installation is the most thermally stable format over UFH.
•Maximum surface temperature: 27°C
•Switch off UFH 48 hours before installation
•After installation: 7-day adhesive cure before activating UFH
•Increase gradually: +1–2°C per day to target temperature
•Maintain indoor humidity: 45–60% RH year-round
•UV lacquer is more humidity-resistant than wax oil — an advantage for a white floor over UFH
•Thermal resistance: 0.15 m²K/W maximum
Waste allowance
Chevron flooring requires a higher waste allowance than long-plank or herringbone flooring due to the angled cuts at room perimeters and obstacles. Allow a minimum 12–15% waste on AM-41 chevron installation (vs 8–10% for long plank). Your installer can advise based on specific room geometry.
Room Suitability
| Room / Application | Suitability | Notes | |
| Living Rooms | Exceptional | AM-41 is a statement living room floor. The white stained chevron creates a strong geometric light ground plane that expands the visual space and works with virtually every contemporary wall colour and furniture palette. The UV lacquer durability makes it practical for everyday living. | |
| Open Plan Living | Exceptional | White chevron in an open plan creates a unified, light, geometric ground across the full floor area. The chevron arrow pattern creates a strong directional axis from the entrance; the pale white tone maximises reflected light in open-plan spaces with good natural daylight. | |
Entrance Halls | Exceptional | White chevron is a classic entrance hall specification: the V-arrow directs the eye into the space, the pale tone maximises light in a space that typically receives less daylight, and the UV lacquer resists the grit and abrasion of a high-traffic entrance.
Bedrooms | Excellent | White stained chevron creates a calm, light, contemporary bedroom floor. The UV lacquer requires no maintenance re-oiling. The pale tone maximises the sense of space in a bedroom.
Dining Rooms | Excellent | UV lacquer provides good resistance to dining room spills. The white stained surface is more forgiving of dropped food than might be expected — UV lacquer's hard film means spills can be wiped before they penetrate.
Home Offices | Excellent | White chevron creates a light, focused working environment. Use a desk chair mat on the UV lacquer surface.
Hallways | Good | UV lacquer and chevron geometry both work well in hallways. White tone shows grit and marks more readily than dark floors — regular sweeping essential.
Kitchen | Good With Care | UV lacquer is the most appropriate finish for a pale kitchen floor. Suitable in dining or seating zones. Promptly wipe water near sink and cooking areas; white stained surface shows water marks more readily than dark floors.
Bathrooms | Not Recommended | Not suitable for persistent moisture exposure.
Care & Maintenance — UV Lacquer on White Stained Brushed Oak Chevron
| Task | Method | ||
| Daily | Dry sweep or vacuum with a soft brush head. White and pale floors show grit and dust more readily than dark floors — regular sweeping is the most important maintenance task for AM-41. The brushed grain channels collect fine grit that will abrade the UV lacquer over time if left. Vacuum across the chevron pattern direction. | ||
| Weekly | Damp mop with a well-wrung cloth and pH-neutral UV lacquer floor cleaner. No steam mop. No excess water. UV lacquer is more moisture-resistant than wax oil, but standing water in the chevron V-joints should be avoided. White stained surface shows water marks more clearly than dark floors — always mop with a well-wrung cloth. | ||
| Spills | Wipe up immediately with a dry cloth. UV lacquer provides good resistance to household liquid spills. Red wine, coffee, and coloured liquids should be addressed immediately on a white stained floor; do not allow coloured spills to penetrate the UV lacquer film through cracks or damaged areas. | ||
Chevron V-joints | Do not fill the chevron V-joints. The flush angled-end joint at the chevron apex is an intentional design feature. Clean joints with a soft brush or vacuum; do not force water or cleaning solution into the joint line.
No re-oiling | UV lacquer requires no periodic re-oiling. This is a significant advantage for a white or pale floor. Never apply wax, oil, or wax-oil maintenance products to AM-41 — these will cause adhesion failure with the UV lacquer film and produce a patchy, uneven appearance.
Scratches & repair | UV lacquer provides strong scratch resistance. Deep scratches that penetrate the lacquer film require professional spot repair or section replacement. Light surface scuffs can be buffed with a manufacturer-approved lacquer maintenance product.
Furniture protection | Felt pads under all furniture legs are essential on a pale floor — marks from furniture legs are more visible on white stained surfaces than on dark floors. Use protective mats under desk chairs. Avoid dragging heavy furniture across the chevron surface.
Never | Steam mop · standing water in V-joints · wax or oil products on lacquered surface · standard household cleaners with ammonia or bleach (will strip lacquer) · abrasive pads · coloured cleaning products (will stain white surface) · dragging furniture without felt pads.

FAQ
Q1. What is white stained oak chevron engineered flooring?
White stained oak chevron engineered flooring is an engineered hardwood floor with a solid European oak wear layer, finished with a white stain and UV lacquer, laid in the chevron (arrow parquet) pattern. In chevron, both ends of each board are cut at a 45° angle so that left-hand and right-hand boards meet at the centre line at a perfect, continuous V-point — producing a crisp, uninterrupted arrow pattern. AMUER AM-41 is 90mm × 510mm, 14/3mm total thickness with a 3mm solid European oak wear layer, AB grade, brushed and white-stained surface treatment, UV lacquer finish, and T&G tongue-and-groove glue-down installation.
Q2. What is the difference between chevron and herringbone flooring?
The key difference is the board end cut and the resulting V-apex. In chevron (AM-41), both ends of each board are cut at 45°, producing two board types (left-hand and right-hand) that meet at a perfect continuous V-point. In herringbone (AM-25, AM-22), board ends are cut square and boards are staggered so that a board end meets a board side, producing a V-apex that is a staggered joint rather than a meeting point. Chevron produces a crisper, more architectural continuous arrow; herringbone produces a more organic, traditional zigzag. Chevron requires a higher level of installation precision and a larger waste allowance due to angled perimeter cuts.
Q3. Is white stained oak flooring hard to maintain?
AM-41’s UV lacquer finish makes it considerably easier to maintain than a white wax-oiled floor. UV lacquer provides a hard, protective film that resists everyday spills and wear without requiring periodic re-oiling. The main maintenance requirement for a pale floor is regular dry sweeping to prevent grit from scratching the lacquer surface — pale floors show grit and dust more readily than dark floors, so frequent sweeping is the most important habit. Standard damp mopping with a pH-neutral cleaner is all that is required weekly.
Q4. Why does chevron require two board types?
Chevron boards are cut at a 45° angle at both ends, and the angle is mirrored on the left-hand and right-hand boards. A left-hand board cannot be flipped to become a right-hand board — the tongue-and-groove geometry on the long edges is the same, but the angled end cuts are mirror images. AM-41 is packaged with both left-hand and right-hand boards clearly labelled and in equal quantities. The installer must maintain the correct left-hand/right-hand sequence throughout the installation to produce the correct chevron V-apex.
Q5. Can AM-41 be used over underfloor heating?
Yes — AM-41 is compatible with both hydronic and electric underfloor heating, maximum surface temperature 27°C. The glue-down T&G installation is the most thermally stable format for engineered chevron over UFH. Allow 7 days for adhesive cure before activating the UFH system. Maintain indoor humidity at 45–60% RH year-round. UV lacquer finish is more humidity-resistant than wax oil, which is an advantage for a pale floor over UFH where humidity cycling can cause colour changes in sensitive finishes.
Q6. What waste allowance is needed for chevron flooring?
Allow a minimum 12–15% waste allowance for AM-41 chevron installation. The angled 45° board ends create larger off-cut waste at room perimeters and around obstacles than square-ended long-plank or herringbone boards. Complex room geometries with multiple openings, bay windows, or irregular walls will require a higher waste allowance — your installer can calculate the specific requirement for each room.
Q7. What is the minimum order for AM-41?
The standard minimum order for AMUER AM-41 is 200 m² per SKU from our China factory. Free samples are available — email arboren@arboren.com. Samples are dispatched to EU, Australian, and most international addresses within 4-5 business days. OEM orders with custom stain colour available from 200 m² MOQ.
