Chemical treatment on oak flooring refers to a controlled chemical process applied to the oak surface before finishing that subtly modifies the natural colour. On AH-07, the chemical treatment warms and deepens the natural honey-sand oak colour toward a richer amber-gold, and slightly reduces the most extreme contrast between pale sapwood and warm heartwood boards. The treatment uses the natural reactivity of the oak's tannin content to produce a colour modification that is more deeply integrated into the wood surface than a surface stain or pigment coat. The chemical treatment of AH-07 is a subtle enhancement — the natural DE grade character, knots, and grain variation remain fully visible; the treatment adds warmth and tonal unification rather than a dramatic color change.

The broken edge on AH-07 creates an irregular, slightly recessed joint between boards rather than the flush square edge joint of standard wide plank floors. For cleaning, vacuum along the grain direction with a soft brush attachment to remove debris from the broken edge joint — do not force water or cleaning products into the joint. Do not fill or caulk broken edge joints: the broken edge is a design feature of AH-07 and filling it would destroy the antique character. For re-oiling, the wax oil maintenance product should be applied across the full board including the broken edge, where it absorbs naturally.

AH-07's 220mm × 2,200mm board dimension and grand antique character are designed for larger rooms — ideally rooms of 25 m² or larger where the board scale reads as proportionate and generous. In smaller rooms (under 20 m²), the 220mm wide plank can visually dominate the space and may read as oversized. For smaller rooms or apartments requiring a similar antique oak character, consider NC-01 (190mm wide plank, UV lacquer) or a narrower DE grade format. For rooms between 20–25 m², AH-07 can work well if installed along the longest room dimension to maximise the visual effect of the long 2,200mm boards.

Yes — AH-07 is compatible with both hydronic and electric underfloor heating with careful installation and environmental management. The combination of 220mm wide plank, 4mm wear layer, and wax oil finish makes AH-07 the most demanding product in the range in terms of humidity management. Maintain indoor humidity at 45–60% RH year-round without exception. Maximum surface temperature 27°C. Switch off heating 72 hours before installation; restart at a maximum of 1°C per day. Wax oil finish is more moisture-sensitive than UV lacquer — fluctuating humidity is the primary risk factor for wide plank wax oil floors.

AH-07 has a 4mm solid European oak wear layer, supporting 2–3 sanding and refinishing cycles over the floor's lifespan — the most refinishing capacity of any product in the AMUER oak range. However, refinishing AH-07 requires specialist consideration: the embossed surface texture, chemical treatment colour, and broken edge profile will be removed or altered by sanding. After sanding, AH-07 can be refinished with a compatible wax oil; re-embossing and re-treating are production processes not replicable on-site. Yes — AH-08 has a 4mm solid oak wear layer supporting 3–4 full sanding and refinishing cycles over the floor's lifespan. After sanding, AH-08 can be re-embossed at the correct depth to restore the relief texture, re-chemically treated to restore the tonal character, and re-finished with wax oil to restore the full specification. The re-embossment and re-treatment steps require specialist equipment — this should be discussed with the refinishing specialist before work starts.
